The Chrysler Museum Of Art Presents Exhibition Of Combat Aviation Paintings To Commemorate The 100th Anniversary Of The End Of World War I

The exhibition will include more than 20 paintings by the French combat artist as well as related materials that will educate audiences about the training, combat and equipment used during the early days of combat aviation. The Military Aviation Museum’s scale model of a Nieuport 11, the most important French fighter plane of the war, will be on display in Chrysler’s Museum’s Huber Court from Nov. 6–10. More.

Wondrous Photographic Illusions by Vik Muniz to be featured in New Exhibition at the Chrysler Museum of Art

The Chrysler Museum of Art will unveil a major retrospective of photographs by celebrated contemporary artist Vik Muniz this summer. Vik Muniz: Photography and the Rebirth of Wonder will be on view from July 13 –Oct. 14, 2018. Curated by Arthur Ollman of the Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography, the exhibition explores the full breadth of the imaginative artist’s career with more than 100 photographs, including many of Muniz’s most recent works. Chrysler Museum of Art to Receive $40,000 Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts

The grant will support the upcoming exhibition Jefferson and Palladio: Designing Young America. Scheduled to open in October 2019, the traveling exhibition will be the first in the United States to tell the story of how Thomas Jefferson adapted the architectural ideals and values of Andrea Palladio to the needs of the young republic and its new social order.
