SUMMARY:Our Final Day
DESCRIPTION:Sunday, Dec. 30, will be your last chance to enjoy the Museum before we close for a massive renovation and expansion project. Our art will remain on view throughout the community in what we are calling the Chrysler Museum Roadshow until our grand reopening in April, 2014. The Glass Studio and Historic Houses will remain open. Only the main building will close. Even with some galleries closed for renovations, there's still plenty to see and do on this final day because we moved some of our most popular works into new galleries to keep them on view. Two shows in particular—The Natural Beauty of Tiffany and Upstairs/Downstairs: Masterpieces From The Chrysler Collection—look great in their more intimate settings. In addition to the wonders of our permanent collection, we close with five exhibitions by female artists. They are April Surgent, Pinaree Sanpitak, Charlotte Potter, Suzanne Opton, and Judith Braun. And finally, a nod to up-and-coming artists from the Governor's School for the Arts. Their exhibit Journeys was the last new exhibition we opened.
