Saturday at the Glass Studio
Jan 26, 2013
We offer a free glass art demo every day at noon.
On the calendar today for classes or special events:
• One-Day Stained Glass Workshop: Small Window
On the fourth Saturday of every month we offer an introductory workshop on the techniques that made Tiffany famous. Imagine the beauty of light glimmering through your own stained glass creation—and that you did it all in a day! You can check availability here. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 26, Feb. 23, March 23 and April 27. ($90 Members, $150 all others.)
• Two-Day Workshop: Glass: An Amorphous Solid
This two-day workshop is a great opportunity to work your way up the skill-advancement ladder, and it will be offered three times before summer. All sessions run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and you can sign up for the weekend of Jan. 26-27, Feb. 23-24, or April 27-28. In this workshop, you will create a series of clear solid and hollow forms—paperweights, spheres, and cylinders—and through each form, you'll get familiar with basic glassblowing techniques. Check availability and sign up here. ($200 Members, $250 all others).
• Two-Weekend Workshop: A Survey of Four Glass Processes
In two Saturdays you can learn four different glass techniques—glassblowing, flameworking, fusing and coldworking. From creative paperweights to carefully constructed tiles, from beautiful colored or clear beads to elegantly engraved creations, here's a fun way to learn the possibilities of glass. Held on consecutive Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Jan. 19 and 26, Feb. 16 and 23, March 16 and 23, and April 20 and 27). You can sign up online. ($175 Members, $225 all others).
