Say "Happy Valentine's Day" with a hot handmade gift. Our Studio Team helps you create a cast-glass heart that your loved one will cherish forever. We have three sessions today, starting at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. You can check availability and signup online here. ($35 Members, $45 all others.)
• Three-Hour Fusing Class: Valentine's Day Jewelry
Even Cupid himself would love a set of fused-glass jewelry! Select sheet glass in bright Valentine’s Day colors, then cut and arrange the glass into wearable art. Fuse in metal attachments for chains and wires, or learn how to add attachments post-kiln. This creative class gives you a variety of handmade gift options—pendants, earrings, cufflinks, brooches, and more. There are two sessions today, running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or from 2-5 p.m., and you can check availability here. ($60 Members, $90 all others.)
• Two-Hour Class: Introduction to Flameworking
From 2-4 p.m. today, come get a taste of an addicting form of glass art—the molding of glass by way of a torch. In introductory classes you make beads and marbles as a way to learn the craft. You can then advance your skills by taking atwo-night course that moves you from beads to figures (offered March 6 and 13). If you do well at that, you can then consider a two-day workshop called Blowing on the Torch that will be offered March 16-17. • Two-Day workshop: Coldworking (Cameo Engraving)
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 2-3.
Translate your favorite image onto glass using engraving and photographic techniques. Discover photosensitive processes and the unique results of sandblasting, enameling, painting, and fusing glass.
