Sunday at the Glass Studio
Apr 28, 2013
We offer a free glass art demo every day at noon.
On the calendar today for classes or special events:
• Introductory Glassblowing: Champagne Paperweight
This is our most popular introductory class. In these two-hour sessions you'll use a blowpipe to convert hot glass into a colorful champagne paperweight. In the process, you’ll get familiar with the Studio equipment and working with molten glass. Today's session begins at 2 p.m. and you can sign up or get more details here. You can repeat these classes for more practice or advance to more in-depth instruction.
• Two-Day Workshop: Glass: An Amorphous Solid
Today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., it's Day Two of our most popular skill-building workshop. By making a series of clear solid and hollow forms—paperweights, spheres, and cylinders—you will explore the qualities of hot glass and get more familiar with glassblowing techniques. Check availability for this or future sessions here. ($200 Members, $250 all others).
• One-Day Workshop: Introductory Flameworking (Marbles and Beads)
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, come learn the art of flameworking. It starts with the process of bead and marble making, but it's easy to get hooked and more to more complicated rod-building projects. To sign up, click here. ($90 Members, $115 all others).
