5:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Last month we began to leverage our Third Thursday success at the Glass Studio to include the entire campus. As we experiment with different combinations of what works best, the first thing we have to say about this after-hours event is just as in the days of our WarmIt or CoolIt concerts, there will be a live band in Huber Court. Click here to learn more about the band Mimsy, or click here to listen to their Norfolk-based pop rock.
But that's just the start of it. In the main building, the Poetry Society of Virginia will gather in our Baroque Gallery, the night's Gallery Talk will be conducted by Museum Director Bill Hennessey, and there's an adult scavenger hunt that can win you a free drink ticket. At the Glass Studio, the art performance will be handled by our Studio Assistants, and the music will be provided by Cara Isadora McKinney, Beth Barefoot and special guests..
It's free for Museum Members, $5 for all others, and one admission covers both venues.
The admission charge kicks in at 5 p.m. at the main building, the cash bar opens at 5:30 p.m. and the band's first set starts at 6:30 p.m. Wisteria, our cafe, will be open for garden-style dining.
Doors to the Glass Studio open at 7 p.m., and since the Studio space is intimately sized and generally fills to capacity, for best results plan on getting in line before the doors open.
