5:00 PM - 10:00 PM
September's installment of Third Thursday after-hours fun features emotion and motion.
The most expressive of all dance styles will be on display in Huber Court. With help from DJ Dorian, expect a mix of expert demonstrations and lessons for absolute beginners in salsa and mambo. Come learn when to break on count two, or come wow the crowd with your own fancy footwork.
It's a different kind of motion at the Glass Studio, where Studio Assistants will be marrying glass art as performance art and a Rube Goldberg machine. For those not familiar with the term, a Rube Goldberg machine is intentionally over-designed, and is judged by how over-complicated a simple task can be. DJ Doddie will be in change of the music at the Studio.
Also at the main building, there will be an adult scavenger hunt where you can win a free drink ticket, and there will be a curator-led tour of our new photography exhibition, Larry Clark Tulsa beginning at 6:30 p.m.
After 5 p.m. in the main building, Museum Members get in free and it's $5 for all others. Doors open at 7 p.m. at the Glass Studio, and since it's a small space prone to filling to capacity, you're advised to be in line before the doors open. There's a cash bar in both locations, and Wisteria, our garden-side cafe, will be open throughout the evening.
The dance expertise will be provided by The Mambo Room in Norfolk. Classes are available for people looking for a chance to make a good impression on Thursday, Sept. 18.Import to Calendar Share
