Second Annual NEON Festival Kick-Off
At the Museum from 5 p.m.
At the Glass Studio from 8 p.m.
Open until 10 p.m.
The Chrysler Museum is pleased to launch a four-day celebration of the NEON Arts District with music, drinks, and fun inside and outside the Museum. There will be glass art as performance art at the Glass Studio, and a special exhibition opening and artist talk featuring a local kid who made it big, Brian Bress.
Brian Bress, shown above, is a Norfolk-born, Los Angeles-based digital artist who will be premiering a new work at the Chrysler, Man With a Cigarette in our first-floor new media space we call The Box. You can see a second Bress Work, WOWMOM, upstairs in our Contemporary Galleries. His free artist talk begins at 6:30 p.m..
Also at the Museum, join us inside and out for live music, lawn games, food trucks, cash-bar concoctions, and more:
• 5 p.m. — The Moderately Rough Jazz Combo takes the stage in Mary’s Garden.
• 5:30–6:30 p.m. — Pyrric Whim performs in Huber Court.
• 6:30–7:30 p.m. — Brian Bress Artist Talk in Wisteria Restaurant.
• 6:30–8 p.m. — DJ TMobyle Performs in Huber Court.
• 8–9 p.m. — DJP and MrT take the stage in Mary’s Garden.
• 8 p.m. — Glass Studio doors open.
At the Chrysler's Perry Glass Studio, our own Robin and Julia Rogers will provide both the glass performance and the music. Explore divine cycles of life and matter through myths and deities in their Incarnation: A Karmic Opus.
In honor of the NEON Festival, this month’s admission to Third Thursday is free for everyone. Due to standing-room-only Third Thursday crowds, admission tickets still are required for entrance to the Studio. Pick up yours at the Glass Studio starting at 6 p.m. on the night of the event or reserve your tickets in advance at reservations.chrysler.org.
Third Thursday is generously sponsored by The Capital Group Companies and Virginia Natural Gas/AGL Resources.Import to Calendar Share
