"Branding the American West" with Alex Mann
Jan 12, 2017
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Here's a wonderful opportunity to enjoy an in-depth journey through our exhibition Branding the American West.
This 45-minute tour will be led by our always-engaging Brock Curator of American Art, Alex Mann, who is shown at right on an earlier tour of this touring exhibition. The light on the floor is the brand used by Maynard Dixon in his paintings, and for more on the famed California artist, click here. Other noted artists in this touring show include Frederic Remington, N.C. Wyeth, Joseph Henry Sharp, and William Herbert Dunton.
The tour is free. Meet up at the Welcome Desk in Huber Court, and expect a bit of a crowd as Mr. Mann has developed a loyal following with his accessible, personable tours. It's fairly rare to see Western art in an East Coast venue such as ours, and this is a fantastic chance to appreciate the show before it closes Feb. 5.Import to Calendar Share
