Norfolk Society of Arts, Lecture and Centennial Celebration
May 1, 2017
11:00 AM - 1:30 PM
The Norfolk Society of Arts concludes its 2016-17 lecture series with a noted speaker from England, holds it annual benefit lunch, and celebrates its 100th anniversary with a gift of art to the Museum.
The Centennial Celebration
In honor of the NSA's 100th anniversary, its members proudly present the Museum with an artwork they've chosen to add to the Chrysler Collection through the Second Century Fund. The group’s leadership collaborated with our curators to determine possible new accessions, then NSA Members voted to select their centennial gift.
11 a.m. Lecture
Todd Longstaffe-Gowan, president of Todd Longstaffe-Gowan Landscape Design and the London Parks and Gardens Trust presents a talk entitled The Dramatic Potential of Landscape.
Britain's leading landscape architect is known for melding past with present and form with function to showcase the great powers and purposes of green spaces. Longstaffe-Gowan also will be available to signs copies of his book The London Square: Gardens in the Midst of Town, available for purchase at the Chrysler.
The May 1 celebration and lecture also will include a brief annual meeting, followed by a private, ticketed luncheon. To join the Norfolk Society of Arts or to make a donation to its Second Century Fund, please contact Susan Comer at (757) 484-3910 or sdkcomer@cox.
