Making and Meaning

On View

June 1, 2013 — August 11, 2013

Location

Past Exhibition

ODU Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries

The Art History faculty from Old Dominion University is using paintings, sculptures, etchings, photographs, lithographs, and fabric arts from the Chrysler Collection to tackle the question “What makes meaning?” Is it story and subject matter, or does an artist’s choice of material and how to use it have any impact? Come see these showcased examples of how the medium can be part of the message.

Throughout the exhibition, Chrysler Museum Gallery Hosts will be in the galleries to discuss the art and answer questions. For more information on programs related to this exhibition, see www.odu.edu/gordongalleries.
