Glass Studio Visiting Artists 2014

Each year the Chrysler Museum Glass Studio Visiting Artist Series brings some of the world's top glass art talent to the Coastal Virginia area. The 2014 lineup, detailed below, included a long-time figure in the American Studio Glass movement, an innovative artist who has been blowing glass since he was 13, a long-time colleague of Lino Tagliapietra and a woman who has worked with top artists all around the world.

Sarah Gilbert

This artist and instructor from Portland, Oregon, won an international competition to become the first Minkoff Foundation 4Front Resident Artist. For more information on her work here, which involves creating glass art from casts of body parts, click here.

Richard Marquis

An artist known for whimsical creations infused with humor, Richard Marquis is also known as a teacher. He's been a major force in the American Studio Glass movement for so long, he has not one but two lifetime achievement awards. More.

Martin Janecky

Nancy Callan & Katherine Gray

Nancy Callan represents both the Seattle glass scene and the Italian traditions as popularized by Lino Tagliapietra. She and Katherine Gray have worked, and taught, together at some of the top glass institutions in the world. More.
