Summer Teacher Institute

Mark your calendars for the 2012 Summer Teacher Institute:  July 30 through August 3, 2012

Designed for all grade levels and subject areas to explore curriculum connections and foster peer collaboration. Discussions range from developing object-centered lessons to nurturing critical thinking through art. Workshops are held within the galleries, exploring the art of ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt, as well as works from Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

Who Can Apply?

Teachers of all grade levels and subjects are encouraged to apply. Previous participants have included science, math, world history, language arts, TAG, and fine art educators. The program is tailored to meet the interests of the group!

Licensure Points

A certificate of participation and letter of completion are provided to each Summer Teacher Institute participant. Although the Museum does not award points, applicants should contact their county’s licensure office to determine how many points will be allotted.

$150 Early Bird Registration (register by April 15, 2012); $175 after

  • Household membership to the Chrysler Museum of Art, which includes unlimited free admission to the permanent collection and all special exhibitions, invitations to Members-only events, subscription to The Chrysler Magazine, discounts at The Museum Shop and Cuisine and Company at The Chrysler Café, and priority discounted enrollment in Camp Chrysler
  • CD of images for use in the classroom
  • Institute binder packed with information and resources
