Glass Associates
The glass collection at the Chrysler Museum of Art is one of
the most significant glass collections in the Western Hemisphere. The
Glass Associates promote the study and appreciation of glass as an artisti
medium.
The Glass Associates support glass education and the occasional purchase of glass for the Museum’s permanent collection.
Programs and Events
• Lectures: The Glass Associates welcome internationally known
glass scholars to the Chrysler Museum who discuss the medium from antiquity
to the present.
• Glass Identification Luncheon: The Chrysler’s Curator of
Glass, Gary E. Baker, examines and identifies treasured pieces of glass
and leads a discussion on the item at this popular annual event.
• Glass Study Workshops: The in-depth workshops educate Members
about glass through slide presentations and actual objects in the glass
collection.
• Glass Gallery Luncheon: Members enjoy lunch in the Glass Galleries
during the annual review of recent glass acquisitions and exhibitions.
