English as a Second Language Tour: American History Through Art

The Chrysler is committed to creating programs which are multidisciplinary, multicultural, and supportive of classroom goals at primary, secondary, and higher education levels. With that in mind, the Museum's Education Department and Docent Marcella Zajac have teamed up with Tidewater Community College's ESL (English as a Second Language) Coordinator, Marsha Abramovich, and Leslie Corpuz, ESL educator, for special tours designed to help students practice their listening, speaking, and writing skills, while also exercising creative thinking. The ESL tour through the Chrysler's American collection is a wonderful way to provide an historic framework for understanding today's American environment.

Before the tour, take the opportunity to visit the Museum's ESL pre-tour activity website (www.chrysler.org/programs). To reserve an ESL-trained docent for a tour or to request an information packet, please call the Education Department at (757) 333-6283.
