Chrysler Museum Announces "Chrysler Creates"
Its New Studio Art Program

July 2004

In response to our recent Membership and Visitor Surveys, which indicated the desire for more family-based programming, the Chrysler Museum of Art is pleased to announce “Chrysler Creates,” an offering of two new art classes. Beginning in July 2004, there will be one class offered for adults and one class offered for children each month. Multigenerational classes are also planned, in which adults and children may participate together.

At the outset, the Museum will offer beginners’ classes in drawing, painting, or watercolors. Subsequently, training in other media suited to the Museum’s spaces will be offered. Instructors will incorporate gallery time, copying from original works of art, and other features in their teaching that will make a class at the Chrysler a unique experience.

Classes will be selected based on proposals submitted by potential instructors. On Wednesday, January 21, 2004, area art instructors are invited to attend one of two informational meetings about Chrysler Creates (3 p.m. and 7 p.m.). At that time, the program will be explained, questions will be answered, and class proposals will be distributed.

Instructors who are not able to attend the meeting may obtain information and class proposals by contacting the Education Department.
