(NORFOLK, VA)—She’s packing up all her delicious words of wisdom, her undying passion for the most delectable culinary masterpieces, and a willingness to share her appetizing treasures in preparation for the biggest feast of the year! Join celebrated author and former New York Times food critic, Mimi Sheraton and a specially chosen group of the most highly skilled chefs in Hampton Roads at the Chrysler Museum of Art on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. for The Art of Food, a private Champagne Reception and Five-Course Dinner with Fine Wines.
Special guest chefs include Bobby Huber, Todd Jurich, Willie Moats, Louise Nagourney and Phillip Craig Thomason.
Sheraton’s lecture coincides with the Chrysler’s new LOOK HERE: Feast exhibition from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond.
Sheraton grew up in a family that relied on food to make a living. Her mother was a cook and her father sold produce. It was here that Sheraton initially developed her passion in life. She began her career writing about design and interior decorating, and later blossomed into an extraordinary food critic contributing to world-renowned publications such as Time, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Eros, Food & Wine, The New York Times, and many more. She is the author of several books including Eating My Words: An Appetite for Life, Food Markets of the World, Food Tales, Is Salami and Eggs Better than Sex: Memoirs of a Happy Eater, The Seducer’s Cookbook, and The Whole World Loves Chicken Soup: Recipes and Lore to Comfort Body and Soul.
Sheraton’s Lecture, The Art of Food is free and open to the public. The Champagne Reception including the five-course dinner with the celebrity chefs of Hampton Roads is $250 per person. Seating is limited.
