John Singer Sargent: Outside The Frame on WHRO

As a timely accompaniment to Great Expectations: John Singer Sargent Painting Children, WHRO-TV, Hampton Roads PBS affiliate, will be televising the high-definition television special John Singer Sargent: Outside The Frame on Thursday, May 5, at 9 p.m. As narrated by Jacqueline Bisset, the art and life of this great American artist is the focus of this popular one-hour documentary. John Singer Sargent: Outside The Frame traces the evolution of the artist's work from his early days exhibiting in the salons of Paris to the notoriety and scandal—over his daring style—which drove him to London and the Royal Academy. Tune into the special on WHRO then visit the Chrysler and view the Master’s work in person.
