The Chrysler Welcomes Tanja Ramm by Mann Ray

Man Ray [Emmanuel Radnitsky] (American, 1890–1976)

The Chrysler is proud to unveil its newest acquisition An Untitled Rayograph of Tanja Ramm by Man Ray, one of the most versatile artists of the 20th–century. This is the only known print of the image, and it is the first Man Ray gelatin-silver print to ever enter the Chrysler’s extensive Permanent Collection! Man Ray’s series of ‘Rayographs’ (objects placed on photographic paper and exposed to light and solarized portraits) distinguishes him as one of the medium’s unique, ioconoclastic talents. An Untitled Rayograph of Tanja Ramm is currently on view and can be found in the new exhibition, The World of Photography.
