Five Continents
The Chrysler’s collection includes works of art from ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome, as well as West Africa, Asia, and the Americas. This tour introduces students to the art and beliefs of cultures from around the world.
The Art of Ancient Egypt, China, and West Africa
Created for young social studies students, this tour explores the cultures of West Africa, China, and ancient Egypt through works of art. Students also write in hieroglyphics on papyrus.
A World of Discoveries in Art
Designed in partnership with Norfolk Public Schools, this tour highlights the diverse cultures represented in works of art ranging from ancient to contemporary.

European Art
The story of the modern world unfolds through works of art from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century. The tour includes glass, photography, painting, and sculpture.
American Art through the 19th Century
Students explore the changing face of American culture by analyzing works of art from the Colonial Era through the 19th century. The tour includes glass, furniture, photography, painting, and sculpture.
American Art in the 20th Century
America takes center stage in the art world of the 20th century. The Chrysler’s collection tells the story of an incredible century through painting, sculpture, and photography.

Designed in partnership with Chesapeake Public Schools, this tour explores the intersection of American art and government. PDF available.
The Influences of Ancient Greece and Rome
This tour spotlights the enduring influence of ancient Greek and Roman culture over a span of several centuries.
The Influences of Ancient Greece and Rome: At the Museum and the Moses Myers House
In addition to a tour at the Chrysler Museum, students will also visit Norfolk’s historic Moses Myers House (1792), where they will discover classical-inspired architectural elements within the house and create their own neoclassical-style plaster ornaments during a hands-on workshop.
The Science of Glass
Investigate the history and art of glassmaking through chemistry, physics, and ecology. This tour for high-school art and/or science students features the Chrysler’s remarkable glass collection, one of the largest and most diverse in the United States. PDF available.

TOURS FOR ARTISTS
The Elements of Art
Students will discuss the interaction of form, line, color, and composition in a variety of media across time and cultures.
Sculpture
This tour features an array of three-dimensional art dating from antiquity through the 20th century and includes the Chrysler’s renowned glass collection.
Students will learn about the methods, materials and meanings behind this centuries-old process of creating two-dimensional art.
